Storied Orlando – Chapter 40: Vengeance

Storied Orlando
Chapter 40: Vengeance

Dean walked in a deliberate manner toward Thurgood Marshall Airport’s gate B12. His uniform freshly dry-cleaned, what was left of his snow white hair brushed and gently bouncing with his gait, his face determined. With a few decades behind the stick now, he had seen some shit, and was not skittish like his gathering crew. He had volunteered to pilot the flight to take 35 or so to Orlando, then fly a full plane of hurricane evacuees out. He had taken a beating from an Irma before – his ex-wife – and there was no way this one was going to win.

Storied Orlando is a short-short story project by Scottie Campbell. Each story is 100 words or less. Some of the stories are lovely, some less so, but they all want to be told.
